Wildfires set records this year as the result of ongoing droughts. Many people across California and the US were left without homes. CoreLogic’s Wildfire Hazard Risk Report now identifies that more than 740,000 residents in 13 states are at high risk for wildfire damage.
In addition, a new study by the Insurance Information Network of California and Verisk Insurance Solutions – Underwriting shows that as much as 15 percent of the 13.5 million homes in in California are at severe risk for wildfire. To put this shocking statistic in perspective, this is nearly as many houses as are located in the state of Colorado.
