What Assembly Bill 2064 Means For You

If you are like many California residents, you have refrained from securing earthquake insurance despite living in an area with relatively high levels of seismic activity. Why do so many of us abstain from securing this coverage?

Perhaps part of the reason is the archaic language explaining our coverage options, captured in a notice that has not been reworked in thirty years. All of that will change in January 2016, however, as Gov. Jerry Brown has signed Assembly Bill 2064 (an earthquake insurance information bill).

The bill will update the offer of earthquake insurance the state requires insurance providers to share with policyholders. It will also allow the California Earthquake Authority to send information annually about coverage options. All of this should culminate in making information about earthquake insurance more easily accessible and more easily understood.

Do not wait until 2016 to secure earthquake insurance. Chivaroli Premier is here to help you understand the coverage options available to you, and can help you select the best policy for your household. Do not hesitate to contact us today!
