New global data on the seizure of fake goods show Rolex, Nike, Ray Ban and Louis Vuitton were the brands with the most knockoffs.
In fact, counterfeit goods have turned into a global industry worth as much as $461 billion, according to a new report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
Footwear is the product counterfeited the most, followed by clothing, leather goods and gadgets, according to the report.
On the counterfeit market, fake Rolex watches were sold for $5 to $20,000, fake Nike shoes are worth between $5 to $200, while knockoff Ray Ban sunglasses range from $5 to $150, and counterfeit Louis Vuitton bags ranged from $5 to $1,500, the report said.
The trade of counterfeit products amounted to as much as 2.5% of global trade in 2013, up from an estimated 1.9% in 2008.
