Registration continues for grants to earthquake retrofit California homes

Applications are still being accepted for homeowners to receive grants of up to $3,000 to earthquake retrofit single-family dwellings in California.

Homeowners in certain zip codes can register at earthquakebracebolt.com for the grants.

The registration period ends Feb. 20 for the program that is funded by the state and the California Earthquake Authority.

Single-family homes that typically qualify for the grant were built before 1979.

Eligible areas in Southern California include parts of Los Angeles, Pasadena, South Pasadena, Santa Monica, West Hollywood and San Bernardino.
